A brief history of the company and the website. Independent Runnings was formed in 1999 with the production of my first short film, Firepower. Once I had a few more shorts under my belt, I decided to put together a website to showcase my work.
The first website was very basic, with pictures and descriptions of my films on a few pages. After I have made a few more projects, I updated the look of the website. Changing the layout, more pictures, adding video to the site. Trying to improve the look with each one. I'm proud to say that I have designed all the previous websites until now.
Why didn't you design this website?
I don't have the time I used to. Designing a website, especially the layout and functionalty of the website, is very time consuming. I would spend days, weeks learning to code, so to create each website, and make sure it works on computers, tablets and phones. It's a full time job! It's too much for me now, so I bought a template instead.
I went onto Google and looked at many different templates for production companies. There were so many I could of used, but I decided to go with this one because of it's sleek and simple to use design. (You can find the link to Spab Rice website at the bottom of this page)
Navigation around the site is simple. Each one of my projects has it's own page. It looks great on computers and on phones. You can filter through the Portfolio page to find certain types of projects I have made. Yopu can access videos and photos of my films. I have a page for my old podcast, Movie Heaven Movie Hell and I have this blog too. So I am very happy with how the website has turned out.
I plan to add more content to the website, including guest posts on this blog. I know quite a few people in this industry and they all have interesting stories to tell. So I'll keep people updated on the site through social media. The links are at the bottom of this page.
